IT Project Manager

Pay Rate: $62.50 to 100.00/hour, depending on experience
Contract Length: 1 year
Location: Saskatoon, Saskatoon

Raise is currently hiring a IT Project Manager on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client is a Canadian global leader in exploration, mine engineering, and environmental protection.

Note: The primary pay rate is based on the rate for an incorporated contractor who owns their own business. However, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in a T4 arrangement, where applicable.

Description

The IT Project Manager in this role will oversee and manage critical technology initiatives across the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet established quality standards while adhering to all of the organization's processes. This role requires a blend of strong technical project management expertise and excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

IT Project Management activities will include:

Conducting project initiation
Conducting detailed project planning
Overseeing and managing project execution
Performing project monitoring and control
Performing project closure
Within the project phases above, the following processes are to be performed as applicable:
- Build and manage project schedule. Assign and track tasks to core project team members.
- Project stand-ups
- Bi-weekly management updates
- Perform project management processes for scope, integration, time, cost, risk, quality, human resources, communication, and procurement
- Manage project issues, actions, risks, and key decision items

Qualifications

Intermediate/Senior: Minimum of 5-9+ years of progressive experience managing complex IT projects, ideally in a corporate or industrial environment.
Proven Project Management Skills with scheduling, budgeting, risk analysis and the people aspects leadership, motivation, conflict resolution) of project management.
Expert ability to work in and leverage modern project management tools, specifically MS Project For The Web (or MS Project Online/Server) and Jira.
Familiarity with leveraging SAP for accessing and reporting on financial data relevant to project budgeting, actuals, and reporting.
Education and Skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field is required.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
Project Management Professional (PMP)/ (PMI) certification
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or other Agile/Scrum certification (nice to have)
ITIL Foundation certification (nice to have)
