Pay Rate: $21.00 – $25.00/hour on W2, depending on experience
Work Location: Onsite – Sugar Land, TX 77478
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
Duration: 7-month contract with possibility of extension and/or conversion based on performance and other factors.
Additional Information: Standard Driver’s License and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) are required.
Job Overview:
Serve as a liaison between the member and the credit union. Provides account information, opens new accounts and handles member’s daily credit union needs. This position requires the candidate to be service-oriented, detail-oriented, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and be able to perform a variety of tasks in accordance with credit union procedures. Maintaining all member information in a secure manner is a must.
Responsibilities:
* Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a professional manner.
* Provide prompt, efficient and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
* Respond to member requests, concerns and questions as they are presented i.e. email, phone calls, walk-ins, member relationship software, call center tickets, etc. in a professional and timely manner.
* Assist members with their plastic card related issues including mailing cards, if necessary.
* Open new accounts and service existing accounts. Set up new account files and provide members with all necessary information for membership.
* Promote credit union products and services based on member’s needs.
* Perform account maintenance on member accounts when requested, with proper documentation /authorization.
* May perform the following teller duties, as a Backup Teller: receive checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for endorsements. This includes loan payments and processing credit card payments. Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and member balances. Places holds on accounts for uncollected funds in accordance with policies and procedures. Enters customers' transactions into computer to record transactions, and issues computer generated receipts.
* Promote and explain other credit union services as needed.
* Answer telephones; provide members with information as requested.
* Ensure propriety and confidentiality of members’ information.
* Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, rules and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act and the Office of Foreign Assets Controls.
* Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High School Diploma or GED required.
* Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience as a Teller at a credit union or bank is required.
* Must have experience as a Member Service Representative in a credit union and/or banking environment.
* Previous cash handling experience is required.
* Credit Check required.
* Experience with Teller Cash Recycler is a plus.
* Familiarity with Fiserv/DNA core systems is a plus.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
* Self-sufficient and able to collaborate effectively with team members.
* Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to articulate thoughts clearly and effectively.
* Demonstrated ability to interact calmly and professionally with diverse personalities and cultures, both within and outside the organization.
* Commitment to providing the highest levels of member service and maintaining discretion when dealing with the public.
* Ability to perform responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines, requirements for extreme accuracy, quality, and/or a fast-paced environment.
* Proficient in handling multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities.
* Capable of exercising the highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
